Since we are halfway through the season, I thought I would bring up custom schedules for next year.
There are a few ways we can go through this, so I will list some ideas.
First off, from what I've read, the schedules are accurate to the 2009 season. In fact, after the 2008 season schedule, it reverts back to the 2007 schedule...kind of lame, but whatever.
Anyways, here are some of the options that can go on.
First off, between the end of the season and before bowl season, everyone can come on here and discuss games they had with human opponents the previous season and whether they would like it to become a rivalry. If you set up a rivalry, you will continue to play those people going from home and away each year in the amount of years you guys decide the rivalry should go.
Those games need to be decided first, and I will make sure they are set up, hopefully the same week as the year before.
Secondly, this is where we can make some options.
Would everyone like to see their schedule and decide what games they would like to alter? When the season ends, I can copy all the schedules and list them here.
OR, would everyone like to just list the people they would like to play and I set it up that way.
OR 3rdly, would you like me to make up the schedules based on my opinion of the player and teams. That means I would schedule teams and players I think would have good games against each other and would also make games important (sorta like the missouri vs florida game I scheduled this year [currently a matchup of a 3 vs 1 in the second to last week of the season]).
The way I would set this up is, you would list how many human opponents you would like to play and give some insight on your type of play. Also the final preseason rankings would play a part of it. I would also schedule a couple of games for people that I think that can result in possible upsets.
OVERALL: I guess the whole thing is, would you like absolute control over who you play and try to contact each person to have your games, or do you trust me enough to believe I can set up a good schedule for each person to have competitve games that are not blowouts. I've played almost each person in the dynasty and know how they they play, their strengths, weaknesses, and how much their team can decide how far they can go. The people I haven't played have played against those I have, so I can interpret who would make matchups.
The good thing about allowing me to make matchups is that it cuts out the problematic scheduling for everyone, allows the season to start faster, and allows me to schedule you new opponents each year unless you would like to make a rivalry.
